Another Design by Core Design Services - Living Room Suite!

Our client recently painted her room blue and gray. She loved her room at the beginning but soon disapproved it because it felt dark and dreary. She came to Core Design Services to help make her room feel more lively and fresh!

By rearranging the space and replacing the furniture we did just that! The television is now placed above the fireplace to keep one focal point throughout the room. The sofa has been replaced with a sectional and moved across the room to get a better view of the outside. When selecting the main pieces in the room we kept them a light neutral color and added pops of bright colors to help give the room a more uplifting feeling. This will make it easier to change the color palette in the future. Patterns can be found throughout the room making the space feel cozy, lighter and taller.

The dining area was originally sharing the space of the living area making it feel cramped and drab. We relocated the dining set next to the sliding glass doors allowing the natural light to filter through making it more appealing and spacious! Add a vibrant table runner to tie the two spaces together and you have a perfectly functional living space with vibrant pops of color and a whimsical touch for all to enjoy!

Artwork - The essential component to wall decor!

Great Big CanvasAre you in need of some artwork for your home? Art is one of many components needed to create a fabulous design for your home. Throughout the past year we have designed many homes and have come across many art inspired websites. There is one in particular we would like to showcase! This company has many styles to choose from and their prices are unforgivable. "Great big canvas" is their name and the options they have to offer are out of this world. Personally, we have used them multiple times and never had an issue with them. Not only is their website clever with the array of options for you to choose from but after purchasing a piece of art they have come up with a solution that makes hanging a breeze!

Stylizing your home with minimal effort!

Everyone has that voice in the back of their head asking themselves how to implement a color scheme into their room with out over doing it. Well here is the trick! Keep with a neutral color scheme as your basis, using whites, blacks, grays, browns, etc... Now it is time to accessorize, use elements that are easy and affordable to change out. Why? This way if you are tired of your favorite color it will take little to no effort to change them out, especially during the holidays. For example, the wicker chair shown in this photograph, so simple to repaint making it the ideal candidate for a simple makeover. Other items to take into consideration; bowls, picture frames (easy to paint as well), pillows, etc... Now the question is, what color are you inspired by?

Sliding Door - Only $40

Sliding doors and barn doors are making a comeback! The problem is the expense... I have come across a DIY (do it yourself) project that will only cost you about $40. You can buy all the items at your local hardware store and it is relatively easy to install. All you need is a some plumbing pipes, wheels, clips and of course the door. For a full tutorial on how to make this happen in your home, go to: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/how-to-build-a-sliding-door-fo-139922

Re-purposing - Palette style!

This contemporary hallway was created using a shipping palette from Lowe's! We simply applied a gray and white washed paint coating and hung it up to dry. We also added a few pieces of art on and next to the palette and wove some track lighting to add points of interest utilizing the power of lighting. To give it some more character we also added a few air plants to help give some life to this beautiful entryway!

What a lofty idea!

Do you have a lofty space and need a unique divider? Check out this simple partition using trellis fences! Super unique, makes a statement and what a great conversational piece! To add a pop of color I would suggest doing a wet wash approach with paint. Painting this piece in a solid color would be to much for this room!

What are your thoughts about this idea? Would you have the guts to do something like this? We dare you....!
